Born in 1979 in the Italian spa town of Merano, Gufler started his career by following in his father’s footsteps as a jeweller, and studying jewellery-making in the German city of Pforzheim. However, during his studies his interest began to turn in the direction of product design, which he then studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
His design work highlights detail, simplicity and an in-depth knowledge of the materials and manufacturing processes.
Since 2010, he has run his own studio in the Austrian capital, where he works with local and international clients. Products he designed have been exhibited at a number of international exhibitions and awarded prizes in prestigious design competitions.
