AIA House | Auckland
AIA New Zealand has transformed its Smales Farm head office to meet the needs of a modern hybrid workforce.
Location: Auckland | Size: 7,000m²
Designed by Jasmax, the refurbishment reduced AIA’s footprint from five to three floors, creating an opportunity to reset workplace culture in an environment aligned with AIA’s global brand and purpose—promoting healthier, longer, better lives. Central to the refresh was establishing a new social heart for the workplace, a space where teams could gather and connect.
Aspect worked closely with NOWW Advisory to deliver a tailored furniture solution and bring AIA’s workplace vision to life. We delivered more than 600 workstations, complete with ergonomic task chairs and integrated technology systems, all carefully selected to support AIA’s team across their new agile working model.
Workstations were strategically positioned away from the building perimeter to reduce screen glare while maximising access to natural light and spectacular views. Humanscale task chairs provide day-long ergonomic support, while custom workbenches facilitate cross department collaboration central to AIA’s new workplace culture. Smart storage and booking systems enable seamless transitions between spaces, supporting staff mobility across the fully shared environment.
The result is a high-performing workspace that perfectly balances AIA’s operational needs with their commitment to employee wellbeing. The refreshed workplace establishes a flexible, people-focused environment that supports diverse work modes and evolving hybrid work patterns while reinforcing AIA’s global brand values.
