SMEC | Sydney

The perfect balance between agile work and contemporary functionality.

Location: Sydney | Size: 2,500m²

SMEC has recently moved to two new floors at Coca-Cola Place, located at 40 Mount St in North Sydney. 40 Mount Street is a truly unique building that will be remembered as an icon for years to come. It boasts an exceptional architectural design that represents world leadership in sustainable architecture, and has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star Office Design and 'As Built' rating.

The space, which spans 2500 square meters, was designed by Gray Puksand, DBS Consulting Australia, and TTW Engineers (Taylor Thomson Whitting), and constructed by Hunter Mason. The new office is a modern and efficient workspace with unique character and style.

The newly renovated workplace offers the perfect balance between airy breakout areas and functional workspaces.

The seamless flow of space between the different zones not only creates a visually appealing environment, but also fosters increased productivity and collaboration among employees.

The addition of a new intertenancy stair connecting both floors adds to the overall functionality of the space.

The transition to an agile-based working environment has been facilitated by the open floor setting, which provides ample room for team members to move around and work together.

The meticulous attention to detail in the design and furnishings has resulted in an engineering office that is not only functional but also stylish, making it the envy of similarly situated offices in town.

The Aspect team in Sydney were engaged by Gray Puksand to supply loose furniture, tables and monitor arms for the project. Aspect’s in-house design capability was a key factor in the success of the fit-out.

The team designed custom-made drum tables that were integrated throughout the client spaces and meeting rooms.

Additionally, Aspect provided monitor arm samples for testing purposes, specifically for the extra-large curved screen formats, resulting in the design of a new heavy-duty tilt limiter for our Reach monitor arms to accommodate the screen size.
