Government Organisation | Dunedin
A transformative workplace consolidation brings a government organisation together in a state-of-the-art landmark where Māori heritage and innovation converge.
Location: Dunedin | Size: 5,000m²
A government organisation required a new single location to house its Dunedin staff, bringing together operations from multiple sites across the city into one purpose-built home. The new building was developed by base build architects Warren and Mahoney. The project represents a significant cultural and commercial partnership honouring mana whenua heritage while delivering 5,000 square metres of premium space for the Dunedin team.
Aspect worked closely with the project team and lead interior designers Catalyst to deliver a large-scale workplace fit-out spanning three floors. We supplied over 1,100 lockers complete with integrated smart technology and 11 fully equipped meeting rooms, all designed to support collaboration and productivity across the workforce. Delivery was staged carefully to align with site readiness, ensuring each area could be occupied as soon as completed.
A key feature of the fit-out was Aspect’s Smartalock locker system. We provided comprehensive end-user training, enabling staff to confidently access and manage lockers from day one, ensuring the technology delivered immediate value. As part of the transition, Aspect also coordinated the relocation and reuse of existing furniture into the new premises, creating a seamless move while minimising disruption and reducing unnecessary waste.
The result is a high-performing workplace that perfectly balances operational efficiency with the government organisation’s commitment to bringing its Dunedin team together. The project demonstrates how smart technology integration, thoughtful staging, and coordinated transition support can transform working environments while enabling organisations to consolidate and evolve.
