Creating Connection: Spark's new Hub of Innovation
Location: Auckland
Telecommunications leader Spark New Zealand recently partnered with Cachet Group to create a modern workplace at their new headquarters at 50 Albert Street.
Spark worked closely with The Building Intelligence Group, independent Project Management Team, and Alaska Construction, to bring their new six-level office to life. Aspect was selected as one of the primary furniture suppliers, collaborating to deliver solutions that prioritised connection, culture and innovation.
Aspect were able to align with Spark's vision, delivering furniture solutions that complemented the client's design goals. Cachet Group emphasised functionality and durability as essential factors to meet diverse business needs.
"The client's brief highlighted the importance of product longevity, ensuring all products and fabrics proposed were commercially rated and came with a minimum warranty period as an investment for the next 10+ years," noted Saila Wang, Cachet Group.
The project recognised Spark as "a very agile business that constantly evolves," resulting in the need for flexible, adaptable spaces. The office plan was designed to create clear pathways connecting key areas, with a "town centre" at the heart of each floor.
Aspect supplied Activate+ Workstations and Muse Pods for focused work, while collaborative areas featured Sector 2 Tables, Agility Tables, and Platform Bar Leaners. Wall mounted Meeting Tables were selected for smaller meeting rooms.
The Level 4 central hub included Critical Cafe Tables with Trill Cafe Chairs and Phantom Low Back Chairs, while the outdoor terrace featured Outdoor Planters. Smartalock Lockers were also provided to ensure secure personal storage for employees.
To overcome challenges with the large-scale implementation, Cachet kept a live document to track furniture quantities and implemented a colour-coding system to streamline delivery and installation by various suppliers. Sustainability was supported by incorporating locally designed furniture and recycled materials wherever possible, aiming to align with the building's WELL Platinum standards.
Aspect Furniture's commitment to quality and timely delivery ensured the furniture package was installed seamlessly, supporting Spark's vision for a dynamic and collaborative workplace environment.
