Forsyth Barr | Dunedin

An inspiring transformation of an iconic building.

Location: Dunedin | Size: 1,200m²

With the complete transformation of the Forsyth Barr House in Dunedin’s Octagon – from its concrete façade to a modern building that stayed in harmony with its historic surroundings – the 53-year-old building had been gutted right back to its shell and has been completely refurbished throughout.

Situated in the heart of the Dunedin CBD, the building has been transformed by various local trades into a high-quality, luxurious space to suit the iconic company that calls it home.

Aspect worked with McAuliffe Stevens Architecture to provide a range of quality, timeless furniture for the Forsyth Barr offices and create a workplace that is in keeping with the modern refurbished exterior.

Spanning across four floors and approximately 1,200m², the revamped office space features a wide range of Aspect’s innovative solutions, while the impressive, surrounding views are complemented by expansive windows and simple, modern architectural features that create a feeling of spaciousness and luxury.

Aspect’s Activate electric workpoints and desk accessories add flexibility to the more traditional, focused working spaces, with market-leading sit-to-stand technology and mobile app capability.

Meeting rooms and break-out settings utilise our Agility table range in a variety of configurations, and reception areas feature Hive modular seating and various occasional furniture by local NZ designers.

A stylish selection of ergonomic Okamura task and meeting chairs completes the functionality of the desking and meeting areas.
